2008 Golden Globe Nominations, Shockers and Snubs

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon and Doubt led the pack with five nominations each. James Franco was also nominated for Pineapple Express!!! The Dark Knight was snubbed, receiving only one nod. While Franco carried the film because Seth Rogen isn't funny, does he deserve a Golden Globe for playing himself? Someone else should win.

It's also nice to see that Rachel Griffiths (Brothers & Sisters) is up for a Golden. So, on Brothers & Sisters Rachel's character's hubby cheated on her, then he wanted a divorce. So she comes home from work one day, after he already announces that he wants to split, and he wastes no time, grabs her and fucks her on the washing machine in the hallway. She's all excited that they're reconciling, then he tells her he just wanted to fuck and they're not getting back together. I felt her pain and that's why she should win! Rachel also coincidentally just so happens to be a good actress, too. Some say that helps.

For television, cable continues to kick network television's ass! The Golden Globes air Jan.11.

Heath Ledger's Funeral at Beach in Australia, Heath Ledger Burial Michelle Williams Mourns and Laughs in Ocean

Heath Ledger's funeral ended in an emotional goodbye by mourners including Michelle Williams, who all took a plunge into the ocean as the sun began to set.

"It's exactly what Heath would have wanted."

At least 50 people attending the wake ran onto the beach and many began to take off their clothes. While some women took the plunge in their black dresses, other men and women stripped down to just their underwear and jumped into the ocean.

Williams, still wearing her cream-colored sundress and black sunglasses, was briefly dragged into the water as everyone cheered. She was then quickly surrounded by a group of mourners, creating a protective circle around the actress.

Those in the water laughed and cheered as Michelle watched from the shore. Ledger's sister Kate also took a dive into the water and was surrounded by pals splashing around her while her father Kim Ledger watched from the restaurant's balcony and shouted, "Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!" giving two thumbs up in the air.

In the last five minutes, as the sun moved toward the horizon, the mourners stood in silence, watching and embracing. Two mourners in the group summoned up the moment as they stood behind Williams. "The sun goes down on our love," they said. "But it will never go down on Heathy."Heath's family celebrated his life in a way he would have wanted them to. I think that's proof Heath was an amazing person with a loving, supporting family. He will be missed, but it's also clear his family will keep the best memories of him alive forever. :)

Also, Michelle Williams is back in New York, she'll begin working on her new film this week, allegedly.

New information is coming out about Heath Ledgers previous issues with drugs and alcohol. One of those pesky sources is saying that Heath's Ex, Michelle Williams, tried taking Heath to rehab back in 2006 but he didn't go and vowed to clean up his act.

For three years, Williams was a firsthand witness to the gifted actor's use of alcohol and drugs, including cocaine, heroin and "a variety of pills," says a Ledger confidant. In March 2006 – just weeks after the couple walked the Oscars red carpet and when daughter Matilda was only five months old – Williams drove Ledger to Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, California, the confidant tells Us Weekly. Ledger refused to check in, instead swaying her with a pledge to clean up. Even after the couple realized "they were in way over their heads," according to a source, and split in September 2007, two sources tell Us that Williams demanded Ledger be drug-tested before his visitations with Matilda.When news of Ledger's death broke last Tuesday, Williams was inconsolable. "She cried and screamed as soon as she heard," a source on the Swedish set of her latest film, Mammoth, tells Us.

Fox News' homophobic host John Gibson made highly offensive commentary regarding the death of Heath Ledger. Will John Gibson get fired?

Fox News' John Gibson called Ledger a "weirdo" with a "serious drug problem." Making fun of the famous "I wish I knew how to quit you" line from "Brokeback Mountain," Gibson said of his death, "Well, he found out how to quit you."

Gibson then went on to say that TMZ reported that Heath had a ’serious drug problem’ and because ‘TMZ is right about everything….about 90% of the time,' it must be true.

After Heath's famous Brokeback line came the clip which featured Ledger saying, “We’re dead." Gibson then played that clip a few more times.

Gibson mentioned Ledgers's death several times during his broadcast, joking that maybe Heath killed himself because he was going to lose money in the stock market, or that maybe he was a John Edwards supporter.When Brokeback Mountain was released, Gibson was obviously not a fan. He mocked the filmed repeatedly, calling it “a gay agenda movie.”

Can someone please dig up as much dirt as possible on this jerk? I really wanna find out how many male sex partners he may have had in the past. He's a closet case, and a cold-hearted asshole at best.

Heath Ledger and Mary Kate Olsen Were a Couple, Dating

According to the Daily News, Olsen's bodyguard later confirmed to police that two were dating. The Post quotes a police source as saying the two had a "mutual relationship."

According to a law enforcement official who spoke to the Post, the masseuse called Olsen first because "she didn't want a media circus." The Daily News reports that the masseuse called Olsen "for guidance."

Olsen told the masseuse she would send her security guards to the downtown Manhattan apartment.

After the masseuse tried to rouse Ledger, she discovered that his body was cold, the Post reports, so she called Olsen again. "I think he's dead," she said. Olsen replied, "I already have people coming over."

The masseuse then told Olsen she was calling 911.

Mary-Kate was called when the housekeeper couldn't wake Heath, so I'm not surprised people would piece together that Heath was dating her. I was waiting for it, actually. I think Heath was banging the supermodel Helena Christensen, the one he was caught sucking face with, who was on her way to his crib when she found out about his passing.

It will be days before authorities can determine the cause of Heath Ledger's death, but more details have surfaced on what specific drugs were found in his room Tuesday.

The 28-year-old actor had six prescription drugs, including anti-anxiety medications and sleeping pills, unnamed police sources tell the Associated Press. (Ledger had openly discussed his problems sleeping.)

Police confirmed earlier Wednesday that an undisclosed number of prescription drugs – and no illegal drugs – were found on the scene.

Many are speculating that Heath Ledger committed suicide.Actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in what authorities say is a possible drug-related death, the NYPD said. He was 28. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne told The Associated Press that Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment that is believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there, and found him dead at 3:26 p.m, Browne said.

The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," where he met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Ledger and Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year. Ledger's roles include the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in "Monster's Ball" and had starring roles in "A Knight's Tale" and "The Patriot." He was to appear as the Joker this year in "The Dark Night," a sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins."

So sad. I was a big fan of Heath and his work. R.I.P Heath.

Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams' relationship is in trouble, it has been reported.

The 'Brokeback Mountain' star spent Valentine's Day surrounded by women at Los Angeles nightclub Teddy's while Michelle was in New York attending fashion week.

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "They had a huge fight, and they're not speaking." Michelle reportedly snapped at a reporter who asked her to comment on her relationship during New York fashion week.

Despite the reported problems, the couple attended the Independent Spirit Awards and the Oscars together.

Heath, 27, and Michelle, 26, have a 16-month-old daughter, Matilda Rose. In January, the couple fuelled rumors they had secretly wed after they were seen wearing rings on their wedding fingers.

Last November, they collected a marriage license in Brooklyn, where they own a town house in Cobble Hill.

"I always sort of imagined I would be a young mother. Kids just bring such a natural order to your life. I used to have all these questions that felt like they would never be answered. I'd agonize myself with them.

The Brokeback Mountain Oscar nominees were spotted picking up a marriage licence in Brooklyn, New York last week.

Until now, representatives for the notoriously private couple have refused to confirm the wedding rumours.

But when asked if the couple were in fact engaged, Ms Ledger replied with an emphatic, “No, they’re not”. The couple have a one-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose.

They especially love the papparazzi when they're vacationing in Mexico, so the pair busted out a marker, paper, and their fingers to let people know how they feel. They look adorable! Michelle is in her bathing suit from Toys R'Us and Heath thought this was a special occasion, so he used his markers instead of crayons to make his sign. I think it's cute, but I wonder what their sign will say next time? This obviously didn't work out too well.
