It sold roughly 290,0000 its first week, coming in at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 behind The Eagles’ latest disc Long Road Out of Eden, which moved 711,000 units, Billboard.com reports.
By comparison, Carrie Underwood, who owes her fame to a 2005 American Idol win, sold 527,000 copies of Carnival Ride in the week following its October 23 release.
Jive/Zomba had estimated Blackout would sell between 330,000-350,000 in its first week.
