For the week ended Sunday, Christina Aguilera's new album, Back to Basics pummeled the competition, selling 342,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, the best first-week numbers this year for a female artist. Back to Basics also opened at number one in the U.K., Canada, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Ireland, among others. It's always refreshing when someone talented gains success in the music biz. Love it. I haven't heard her album yet, but Stripped was brilliant. I was blown away by her song writing, and of course, her vocal range. I wonder what Back To Basics sounds like? I will letcha know after I give it a listen.

I want Christina to be around for a long time. She's like 1 of 3 singers out right now who can actually sing.
