Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are Being Threatened by al-Qaeda

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, have received threats on their lives from al-Qaeda, The Financial Express reports.

The couple are currently shooting the film A Mighty Heart, based on the life of Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was killed at the hands of al-Qaeda militants in Pakistan in 2002.

British security experts were flown to Pune earlier this week, after being alerted by neighbouring Pakistan that the couple might be targeted because of the political nature of the film.

The terror fear is also said to be the reason behind the decision to shoot the movie in Pune, as opposed to Pakistan, where the events actually took place.

After assessing the inputs on from various intelligence agencies, India has provided the couple with Y category security while in Pune, Intelligence Bureau sources said in New Delhi on Thursday.

Jolie, 31, plays the role of Mariane, the widow of Pearl, who was working on a story on Islamic militancy at the time he was kidnapped.
